GIVEN:

Side of the square=100cm

Radius of the sector=14cm

FIND:

Shaded region=?

SOLUTION:

Area of the Shaded region

=Area of the square - Area of the 4 quadrant

Area of the square

=a^2 Sq.units

=100^2

=10000 cm^2

Area of 1 quadrant

=(pie×r^2)/4

=[(22/7)×14×14]/4

=[22×2×14/4]

=[616/4]

=154 cm^2

Similarly,

all the quadrant have same area as their radius is 14cm.

Hence,

Area of 4quadrant=4×154

=616 cm^2

Area of the Shaded region =Area of the square - Area of the 4quadrant

=10000 - 616

=9384 cm^2
