find the Area of
the Shaded region.
Answers
For getting area do as. i tell
FOR BIG RECTANGLE USE
LENGTH=20CM
BREDTH=10CM
NOW AREA
L×B
20×10
200CM²
FOR INSIDE RECTANGAL USE
LENGTH=18
BREDTH=8
AREA
18×8
144cm²
noe for getting shaded area
200-144cm²
56cm² is the answer
i hope you will find it helpful
Given :
- Dimensions of inner rectangle = 18 cm by 8 cm
- Dimensions of outer rectangle = 20 cm by 10 cm
To Find :
Area of the shaded region.
Solution :
Analysis :
First we have to find the area of the inner and outer rectangle. Then we will be subtracting both the areas to find the area of the shaded region.
Required Formula :
Area of rectangle = Length × Breadth
Explanation :
Area of outer rectangle :
We know that if we are given the length and breadth of a rectangle and is asked to find the area of the rectangle then our required formula is,
Area of outer rectangle = Length × Breadth
where,
- Length = 20 cm
- Breadth = 10 cm
Using the required formula and substituting the required values,
⇒ Area = Length × Breadth
⇒ Area = 20 × 10
⇒ Area = 200
∴ Area of outer rectangle = 200 cm².
Area of inner rectangle :
We know that if we are given the length and breadth of a rectangle and is asked to find the area of the rectangle then our required formula is,
Area of inner rectangle = Length × Breadth
where,
- Length = 18 cm
- Breadth = 8 cm
Using the required formula and substituting the required values,
⇒ Area = Length × Breadth
⇒ Area = 18 × 8
⇒ Area = 144
∴ Area of inner rectangle = 144 cm².
Area of shaded region :
☯ According to the question,
Area of shaded region = Area of outer rectangle – Area of inner rectangle
where,
- Area of outer rectangle = 200 cm²
- Area of inner rectangle = 144 cm
Substituting the values,
⇒ Area of shaded region = Area of outer rectangle – Area of inner rectangle
⇒ Area of shaded region = 200 - 144
⇒ Area of shaded region = 56
∴ Area of shaded region = 56 cm².
