Answer:

42 cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

Area of the shaded region is area of square-area of circle

Area of square = side ×side

Here side is 14

Area of square = 14×14 = 196

Area of circle = pi×r²

Radius will be 7 as it is half of side of square

Area of circle = 22/7×7×7

= 22×7

= 154 cm²

Area of shaded region = 196-154

= 42 cm²

Area \: of \: square =  {Side}^{2}

 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  = {14}^{2}

 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  = 196 \:  {cm}^{2}  \:

Area \: of \: circle  = \pi {r}^{2}

 \:  \: \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  =  \frac{22}{7}  \times  {7}^{2}

 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:   =  \frac{22}{7}  \times 49

 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:   \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  =  \frac{22}{1}  \times 7

 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  = 15 4 \: cm {}^{2}

Area \: of \: shaded \: region = 196  - 154

 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  = 42 \: cm {}^{2}
