Answer:

area of small circle is = πr^2

= 22/7 * 2.1 *2.1

=13.85

area of big circle = 22/7 * 3.5 *3.5

=38.47

subtract both areas = 38.47 - 13.85

= 24.62 cm^2 (is the area of shaded portion)

Answer:

  • Area of shaded region is 24.64 cm².

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :-

  • Radius of big circle is 3.5 cm.
  • Radius of small circle is 2.1 cm.

To find :-

  • Area of shaded region.

Solution :-

We know,

Area of circle = π

Where,

r is radius of circle.

• Value of π is 3.14 or 22/7.

Area of small circle :

 \longrightarrow Area = π × (2.1)²

 \longrightarrow Area = 22/7 × 2.1 × 2.1

 \longrightarrow Area = 22/7 × 4.41

 \longrightarrow Area = 97.02/7

 \longrightarrow Area = 13.86

Thus,

Area of small circle is 13.86 cm².

Area of big circle :

 \longrightarrow Area = π × (3.5)²

 \longrightarrow Area = 22/7 × 3.5 × 3.5

 \longrightarrow Area = 22/7 × 12.25

 \longrightarrow Area = 269.5/7

 \longrightarrow Area = 38.5

Thus,

Area of big circle is 38.5 cm².

Now,

Area of shaded region = Area of big circle - Area of small circle

 \longrightarrow Area of shaded region = 38.5 - 13.86

 \longrightarrow Area of shaded region = 24.64

Therefore,

Area of shaded region is 24.64 cm².
