Answer:

★ Given :-

  • Two Rectangles ABCD and DEFG.

★ Have to Find :-

  • Area of the shaded portion.

★ Solution :-

Let's find out area of rectangle ABCD first .

• Length = DE + EA = 4 + 2 = 6 cm

• Breadth = DG + GC = 7 + 2 = 9 cm

Therefore,

Area = Length × Breadth

↬ A = 6 × 9

↬ A = 54 cm²

  • Area of rectangle ABCD = 54 cm²

Now,

Let's find out of area of rectangle DEFG

• Length = 4 cm

• Breadth = 7 cm

So, we know

Area = Length × Breadth

Putting values in the formula :-

↬Area = 7 × 4

↬ Area = 28 cm

  • Area of rectangle DEGF = 28 cm²

Then,

Area of shades portion = Area of ABCD - Area of DEGF

Area of shaded portion = 54 - 28 = 26 cm²

Hence,

Area of shaded portion is 26 cm².
