Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

side of square(s) = 7cm

Total area of square = s^2 = 7^2 = 49cm

Area of semi circle = πr^2/2 = 3.14 x 3.5^2/2 = 19.23

Since there are two semi circles, therefore area of bot semi circles = 19.23 x 2                 = 38.46

therefore,

area of shaded region = total area - area of both semi circles = 49-38.46 = 11.54 cm

ANSWER= 11.54cm

Given :  ABCD is a square of side 7cm and APD and BPC are semicircles

To find : area of Shaded region

Solution:

Area of Square  ABCD  = Side² = 7²  = 49 cm²

AD = BC = 7 cm = Diameter of Semicircle

=> Radius of Semicircle = 7/2  cm

Area of Each semicircle = (1/2)π(7/2)²

Area of both semicircle  = 2 *  (1/2)π(7/2)²

= π(7/2)²

using π = 22/7

= (22/7)(7/2)²

= 11 * 7 / 2

= 38.5 cm²

Area of Shaded region =  area of Square - Area of both semicircle

= 49 - 38.5

= 10.5  cm²

10.5  cm²   is the area of the shaded region
