Find the area of the shaded region in figure shown, if
ABCD is a square of side 14 cm and APD and BPC are
semi-circles.

= 196 cm^2

radius= 14/2

=7 cm

area of semicircle APD= area of semicircle BPC

(same radius)

area of APD=(πr^2)/2

=(22÷7)*7*7/2

=77cm^2

area of BPC=77cm^2

area of shaded region

=ar of square- area of both semicircles

=196-77-77

=42cm²
