Find the area of the shaded region in figure, where APD, AQB, BRC and CSD are
semi-circles of diameter 14 cm, 3.5 cm, 7 cm and 3.5 cm respectively

diameter of 2 smaller semicircle

d= 3.5

r=3.5/2

Area = pi.r²/2=pi × (3.5)²/4×1/2= 12.25pi/8 m²

area of both small semicircle = 2 ×12.25pi/8

= 12.25pi/4 cm²

area of the largee circle

diameter = 3.5+3.5+7=14cm

radius = 7cm

area = pi r²/2 = 49pi/2 cm²

area of circle BCR

diameter = 7

radius =7/2

area = pi r²/2 = 49pi/8

total area of shaded region=

49pi/2 -12.25pi/4 + 49pi/8 then solve
