area of the square
$= 14 \times 14 = 196 \: cm \: square$
area of the semicircles
$= (22 \div 7) \times 7 \times 7 \\ = 154 \: {cm}^{2}$
since radius of the semicircle will be 14 divided by 2 that is 7 cm so area of the two semicircles will be( 2 x πr^2)/2= πr^2
hence area of shaded region will be
$= (196 - 154) {cm}^{2} \\ = 42 \: {cm}^{2}$
