Find the area of the shaded region in the adjoining figure, given that AB = 14 cm, AD = 12 cm, BD = 18 cm and angle DAB = angle CBA = 90°. [Hint: Draw DE perpendicular to BC] ​

first of all as given in hint we will draw or De perpendicular to BC

that will create a triangle DEC, right angled at e

so we will find area of the triangle

=1/2 xbxh

=1/2x(18-12)x14

=1/2x6x14

=42cm square

now we will find the area of rectangle

=lxb

=14x12

=168 cm square

total area is equals to 168 plus 42 that is 210 CM square
