Find the area of the shaded region in the

Here,

Area of Shaded Region = Area of Square - Area of Circle

Circle:-

Diameter = 20 cm

We know,

  • Area of Circle = πr²
  • & r = ½ × d

∴ r = 20/2 cm = 10 cm

or,

πr² = π(10 cm)² = (3.14)(100 cm²) = 314 cm²

Square:-

Length of each side = 20 cm

We know,

  • Area of Square = s²

∴ s² = (20 cm)² = 400 cm²

So, shaded portion = 400 cm² - 314 cm² = 86 cm² (Answer)
