first of all , find the area of rectangle ,

length = 18cm

breadth = 14cm

area of rectangle = length × breadth

= 18cm × 14cm

= 252${cm}^{2}$

then find the area of semi circle ,

》 diameter = 14cm

radius = $\huge\frac{14}{2}$cm

= 7cm

area of semi circle = $\pi$×${r}^{2}$ ÷2

》 $\huge\frac{22}{7}$ ×7cm×7cm ÷2

》77 ${cm}^{2}$

so the area of shaded portion is = 252${cm}^{2}$ - 77${cm}^{2}$

= 175${cm}^{2}$
