IN THE FIG IT IS SHOWN THAT THE TEN CM AREA IS COVERED BY THE ONE SIDE OF THE SHADED SQUARE

SO THE AREA COVERED BY THE SHADED SQUARE IS

= 10 CM ×4 = 40 CM

AREA COVERED BY THE NOT SHDED AREA IS

= 70 CM - 40 CM

= 30 CM
