name the point p .

Now,

ABPD is a square

so area of ABPD =  {2}^{2}

= 4 unit

Now,

The area of ∆BPC = 1/2×base× perpendicular

= 1/2×2×2

=2unit

so,

Area of whole figure = 4+2

=6 unit
