= 72 cm

take the triangle formed by the diagonal .

now the triangle is right angle triangle.

let the lengths be x and x (since both are equal)

by Pythagoras theorem :-

height² + base² = hypotenuse ²

x² + x² = 72²

2 x² = 5184

x². = 5184/2

x. ² = 2592

x. = √2592

x. = 50.91

so the length of the square is 50.91 cm

now you can do the second one yourself .
