Answer:

Answer:

  • 1/2ab

Given:

The line is,

 \frac{x}{a} + \frac{y}{b} = 1

If this line is passing through the x-axis,

Then, y=0

 \frac{x}{a} = 1 \\ x = a

The point is (a,0)

Now,

If this line pass through the y-axis,

Then,x=0

 \frac{y}{b} = 1 \\ y = b

The point is (0,b)

Now plot this points on the graph.

Area of the triangle=1/2×base×height

=1/2×ab

So, Area of the triangle=1/2ab
