Hi!
Area of triangle = 336cm², Height corresponding to the longest side=16cm
Explanation:
Given, sides of the triangle are 42cm, 34cm and 20cm.
So, semi=perimeter = 42+34+20/2 = 48cm
By applying Heron's formula,
Area of triangle = √48(48-42)(48-34)(48-20)   [ Whole root ]
                           = √48*6*14*28
                           = √6*8*6*7*7*8 = 6*7*8 = 334cm²
Now, area = 1/2bh
Let the base be the longest side, a.k.a. 42cm
Hence, 1/2bh = 334
⇒1/2*42*h=334
⇒21h=334  ⇒ h=334/21 ⇒ h=16cm
Hope this helped. ^-^
