By herons formula : Area of a triangle = under root s (s-a)( s-b) (s-c)

s = a +b+c/2 = 40/2 = 20

Area = under root 20 (20-17)(20-15)(20-8)

= under root 3 × 5 × 3 × 2 × 2

= 6 under root 5
