1/2  {x1(y2-y3) + x2(y3-y1) + x3(y1-y2)}

Here,

x1=1              y1=2

x2=3            y2=4

x3=1/2          y3=1/4

=1/2  {1(4-1/4) + 3(1/4-2) + 1/2(2-4)}

=5/4
