answer:

we know that the following figure is a rectangle

thus, RQ is 12cm

thus, RM=MQ=6

to find area of non shaded portion,

subtract whole area by area of shaded portion

to find the area of the shaded portion...

add the area of triangles ROM and MOQ

we know;

area of ️ = 1/2×base×height

Area of Triangle ROM =1/2×6×4

=12

Area of Triangle MOQ =1/2×6×4

=12

TOTAL AREA OF ️ ROQ = 12 + 12 = 24

total area of rectangle PQRS = length × breadth

= 12 × 12

= 144

therefore

TOTAL AREA OF UNSHADED PORTION

= 144 - 24

= 120 cm2
