Answer:

 Area \:of \: unshaded \\Area = 101.5\:m^{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

 From \: the \: given \: figure :

Dimensions of a rectangle:

Length (L) = 14 m ,

Breadth (B) = 10 m,

Area of the rectangle (A)= LB

= 14m × 10m

= 140 ----(1)

Dimensions of each semicircle:

Diameter (d) = L/2

=> d = 14/2 = 7 m

Area \: of \: each \: semicircle = \pi \frac{d^{2}}{8}\\= \frac{22}{7} \times \frac{7^{2}}{8}\\=\frac{77}{4}--(2)

Now,

Area of unshaded portion

= Area of the rectangle -2× Area of each semicircle

=140 \:m^{2} - 2\times \frac{77\:m^{2}}{4}\\=140-\frac{77}{2}\\=140-38.5\:m^{2}\\=101.5\: m^{2}

Therefore,

 Area \:of \: unshaded \\Area = 101.5\:m^{2}
