Given:-

  • Parallel sides of the trapezium 7cm and 9cm.

  • Distance between the parallel sides is 3cm.

To Find:-

  • Find the area of the trapezium.

Concept:-

  • Let's go through the concept first. Concept used here is Area of a Trapezium.Substitute the given values in the equation and find it out.Distance means height itself.

Formulae Applied:-

  • Area of a Trapezium = 1/2(Sum of parallel sides)h

Solution:-

Parallel sides of the trapezium = 7cm and 9cm

Distance b/w the parallel sides ie,

Height = 3cm

Area = ??

According to the question we have!

Area of a trapezium = 1/2(Sum of parallel sides)h

⟹ 1/2(Sum of parallel sides)h

⟹ 1/2(7 + 9)3

⟹ 1/2(16)3

⟹ 1/2 × 16 × 3

⟹ 1 × 8 × 3

⟹ 24

⟹ 24cm^2

Hence,

The area of the trapezium is 24cm^2.
