Find the area of trapezium whose parallel sides are 9cm and 15cm and the distance between them is 8cm.

given:-

b1=9cm

b2=15cm

height of the trapezium=8cm

therefore area of the trapezium=1/2×h(b1+b2)

=1/2×8(9+15)

=4×24

=96cm²

hence, the area of the trapezium is 95cm².

Solution

Area of a trapezium = 1/2 × sum of parallel sides × distance between them

= 1/2 (9 + 15) × 8

= 4 × 24
