First we need to find the sides of the triangle by the help of the formula of the area of triangle from the chapter Co-ordinate Geometry which is -

1/2 |x₁(y₂-y₃) + x₂(y₃-y₁) + x₃(y₁-y₂)| by using this formula we get the area of the triangle where x₁=1, x₂=1, x₃=5 and y₁=1, y₂=4, y₃=1.

When we substitute the values we get the answer as 6.
