Find the area of triangle in which:

1) The right angled triangle in which hypotnuese is 13 cm and one side is 5cm ..

Let the one side be AB, so that

Using Pythagoras Theorem, we get

AB^2 + BC^2 = AC^2

or, AB^2 = 13^2 - 5^2

or, AB^2 = 169 - 25 = 144

or, AB = √144 = 12 cm

Semi-perimeter = 13 + 12 + 5 / 2 = 30/2 = 15 cm

Heron's Formula = √s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)

Heron's Formula = √15(15-13)(15-12)(15-5)

Heron's Formula = √15 × 2 × 3 × 10

Heron's Formula = √3 × 5 × 2 × 3 × 2 × 5

Heron's Formula = 3 × 2 × 5

Area of the Triangle = 30 sq.cm
