Given

  • Sides of a triangle :-
  • Length of the triangle = 6 cm
  • Breadth of the triangle = 6 cm
  • Height of the triangle = 10 cm

To find

  • Area of the triangle

Solution

It is an isosceles triangle. Because two sides of the triangle are equal to each other and the third side is unequal.

Using formulae :–

  • Heron's formula = √s(s - a)(s - b)(s - c)
  • Semi perimeter = (a + b + c)/2

Take,

  • a = 6 cm
  • b = 6 cm
  • c = 10 cm

Substituting the given values,

⟼ Semi - perimeter = (6 + 6 + 10)/2

⟼ Semi - perimeter = 22/2

⟼ Semi - perimeter = 11

Semi - perimeter (s) = 11 cm

⟼ Heron's formula = √s(s - a)(s - b)(s - c)

⟼ Area = √11(11 - 6)(11 - 6)(11 - 10)

⟼ Area = √11(5)(5)(1)

⟼ Area = 5√11

Area of the triangle = 5√11 cm²
