As the perpendicular/height is not given in the data . Therefore, we will be using HERON'S formula for calculating the Area of the Triangle. As area = 1/2 × b × h cannot be applied here.

GIVEN :- Sides if a triangle are 12cm,14cm and 16cm

TO FIND :- Area of the Triangle

ANSWER :-

Let a, b and c be sides of the Triangle.

a = 12cm

b = 14cm

c = 16cm

Now, we will calculate semi-perimeter(s)

s =  \frac{a + b + c}{2}  \\  \\  \\  =  \frac{12 + 14 + 16}{2}  \\  \\  \\  =  \frac{42}{2}  \\  \\  \\  = 21cm

HERON'S FORMULA

area =  \sqrt{s(s - a)(s - b)(s - c)}

Here we can put values to get the answer.

area =  \sqrt{s(s - a)(s - b)(s - c)}  \\  \\  \\  =  \sqrt{21(21 - 12)(21 - 14)(21 - 16)}  \\  \\  \\  =  \sqrt{21 \times 9 \times 7 \times 5}  \\  \\  \\  =  \sqrt{6615}  \\  \\  =  \boxed{81.33}

Therefore, the area of the Rectangle is 81.33cmsq
