answer: 54 cm^2 - option d.

this sum can also be solved by using heron's formula.

 \sqrt{s(s - a)(s - b)(s - c)}

assuming,

a = 9cm

b= 12 cm

c = 15 cm.

s =  \frac{a + b + c}{2}  =  \frac{9 + 12 + 15}{2}  =  \frac{36}{2}  = 18

by substituting these values in the given formula we get the same answer as 54 cm^2.
