Find the 3rd side:

Perimeter = side 1 + side 2 + side 3

45 = 18 + 17 + side 3

side 3 = 10 cm

Find the semi-perimeter:

Perimeter = 45 cm

semiperimeter = 45 ÷ 2 = 22.5 cm

Find the area:

Area = √p(p- a)(p - b)(p-c)

area = √22.5(22.5 - 18)(22.5 - 17)(22.5 - 10) ≈ 83 cm²

Answer: The area is 83cm²
