Given:

triangle with vertices are P(2,-6), Q(5, 4), R(-2, 4)

To Find:

Area of Triangle

Solution:

The vertices are P (2,-6 )   (x₁,y₁)

                            Q (5,4)  (x₂,y₂)

                            R( -2,4) (x₃,y₃)

The area of Triangle =

= 1/2 [x₁(y₂−y₃) + x₂(y₃−y₁) + x₃(y₁−y₂)]

= 1/2 [2(4 - 4) + 5(4 - (-6)) - 2(-6 - 4)]

= 1/2 [ 0 + 50 + 20 ]

= 1/2 [70]

= 35 sq. unit

Hence, the area of triangle is 35 sq. unit.
