Diagonals bisect each other and they are perpendicular in rhombus

Let half the length of second diagonal be x

As two diagonals and a side form right angled triangle ;

⇒x  =2+4=6

2 x=6

 

⇒x=3

⇒length of 2nd side =2x=6cm

Area of rhombus= 1/2(d1+d2)

=1/2 x 6x 4

=1/2 x 48

=24cm
