• The breadth of rectangle = height of the both triangle
• Length of the rectangle = 3m + 6m = 9m

• The base of the triangle A present at the left side of the rectangle = length of the rectangle - 7m=9m - 7m =2m
• The base of the triangle B  present at the right side of the rectangle =6m

area of the shaded region = area of triangle A + area of triangle B

area of the shaded region$=\frac{heightXbase}{2} +\frac{heightXbase}{2}$

$=\frac{5X2m}{2} +\frac{5X6m}{2} \\\\=\frac{10}{2} +\frac{30}{2} \\\\=\frac{10+30}{2} m^2\\\\=\frac{40}{2}m^2$

area of shaded region =$20m^2$
