we know that,
Area of rectangle is l×b
(a) 3cm ×4cm = 12cm square
(b)12m×21m= 252m square
(c)2km×3km=6km square
(d)2m × 0.7m = 1.4 m square

[ we know that cm convert into m = 70/100 =0.7m]

Find the area of the rectangles whose sides are:

(a) 3 cm and 4 cm

(a) 3 cm and 4 cm(b) 12 m and 21 m

(a) 3 cm and 4 cm(b) 12 m and 21 m(c) 2 km and 3 km

(a) 3 cm and 4 cm(b) 12 m and 21 m(c) 2 km and 3 km(d) 2 m and 70 cm

_____________________________

Given that:-

  • Sides of rectangle a) = 3cm and 4cm

  • Sides of rectangle b) = 12m and 21m

  • Sides of rectangle c) = 2km and 3km

  • Sides of rectangle d) = 2m and 70cm.

To find:-

  • The areas of the given rectangles [ As mentioned in question above]

Answer:-

\bold{STEP-BY-STEP-EXPLANATION}

We know that,

Area of rectangle = Length × Breadth

(a) l = 3 cm and b = 4 cm

Area = l × b = 3 × 4

= 12 cm^2

(b) l = 12 m and b = 21 m

Area = l × b = 12 × 21

= 252 m^2

(c) l = 2 km and b = 3 km

Area = l × b = 2 × 3

= 6 km^2

(d) l = 2 m and b = 70 cm = 0.70 m

Area = l × b = 2 × 0.70

= 1.40 m^2
