Let a be the first term and d be the common difference of an AP.
Number which are multiples of 3 between 200 and 900 are : 201 , 204 , 207 , ........ , 900.
Here ,
First term ( a ) = 201
Common difference ( d ) = 204 - 201 = 3.
Last term ( Tn ) = 900
a + ( n- 1 ) * d = 900
201 + ( n - 1 ) * 3 = 900
201 + 3n - 3 =900
3n + 198 = 900
3n = 900 - 198
3n = 702
n = 702 / 3
n = 234.
Number of terms = 234.
Therefore,
Sn = n/2 × [ First term + Last term ]
S234 = 234/2 ( 201 + 900 )
=> 117 × ( 1101 )
=> 128817 [ Answer ]
Hence,
Sum of numbers which are multiples of 4 between 200 and 900 is 128817.
