First find the number of odd terms between 40 and 90. They are 25.
S25 = (25/2)[2*41+(25–1)*2]
= (25/2)[82+48]
= 25*130/2
=1625.
So the average of the 25 numbers = 1625/25 = 65.
This is the same as 40+(90–40)/2 = 40+25=65.
