Natural numbers are positive whole numbers.

The first 20 natural numbers are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20.

Use the formula Average = Sum of Values ÷ Number of Values to find the answer.

(1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 6 + 7 + 8 + 9 + 10 + 11 + 12 + 13 + 14 + 15 + 16 + 17 + 18 + 19 + 20) ÷ 20

= 210 ÷ 20

= 10.5

Hence, the average of the first 20 natural numbers is 10.5.

n(n+1)÷2 = 20(20+1)÷ 2 = 20(21)÷2 = 210

avg = 210÷20 = 10 . 5
