a to b = 30 km/h
b to a = 50 km/h
average speed = initial velocity + final velocity / 2
= (30 + 50)/2 = 40 km/h

Explanation:

speed of bus from a to b = 30km/h

speed of bus from b to a = 50 km/h

average speed = initial velocity + final velocity /2

(30+50)/2

=80/2

=40 km/h

therefore average speed is 40km/h
