Complete Question :

Find the base of a parallelogram whose area is 2.75 m² and height is 2.5 m.

Answer :

›»› The base of a parallelogram is 1.1 m.

Given :

  • Area of a parallelogram = 2.75 m².
  • Height of a parallelogram = 2.5 m.

To find :

  • Base of a parallelogram = ?

Solution :

Let us assume that, the base of a parallelogram is x m.

As we know that

→ Area of parallelogram = base * height

→ 2.75 = x * 2.5

→ 2.75 = 2.5x

→ x = 2.75 ÷ 2.5

→ x = 2750 ÷ 2500

→ x = 275 ÷ 250

→ x = 55 ÷ 50

x = 1.1

Hence, the base of a parallelogram is 1.1 m.

Verification :

→ Area of parallelogram = base * height

→ 2.75 = 1.1 * 2.5

2.75 = 2.75

Here, LHS = RHS

Hence Verified !

Answer:

 \huge { \bold {\tt {given}}}

  • Area of parallelogram = 2.75 metres
  • Height of parallelogram = 2.5 metres

Base of parallelogram

 \huge { \bold {\tt {answer}}}

First we have to convert them into like terms

 2.75 \mapsto \: 275 \: cm

2.5 \: m \:  \mapsto \: 250 \: cm

As we know that Area of parallelogram = base × height

Let the base be x

275 \:  = x \times 250

2750 = 2500x

 \frac{275}{250}

 = 1.1 \: m

Therefore required base for the Parallelogram is 1.1 metre.
