1 hectare = 10,000 m^2
Therefore, 16 hectare = 160000 m^2

Now, 1 Dam = 10 m
Therefore, 40 dam = 400 m

Now the question is pretty easy.
Area of ∆ = (1/2) × Base × Height
=> 160000 = (1/2) × Base × 400
=> 160000/200 = Base
Therefore, Base= 800 Metres

But since in question, Height is given in dam, so we will convert it into dam

800 m = 800/10 dam = 80 dam

Hope it helped!

The answer would be 80 dam
Explanation:
Area of ∆ = (1/2) × Base × Height
=> 160000 m^2 = (1/2) × Base × 400m
=> Base = (160000/400)m
=> Base = 800m = (800/10) dam = 80 dam!
So here is you answer!
Hope you understand it!!!
