Answer :

➥ The base of a traingle = 12 cm

Given :

➤ Area of a traingle = 0.48 dm

➤ Altitude of a traingle (h) = 8 cm

To Find :

➤ Base of a traingle (b) = ?

Solution :

◈ Area = 0.48 dm = 0.48 × 100 = 48 cm

Let ,

The base of a traingle be "b"

As we know that

\tt{: \implies Area \: of \: a \: traingle =  \dfrac{1}{2} \times base \times height}

\tt{: \implies 48= \dfrac{1}{ \cancel{ \: 2 \: }} \times b \times  \cancel{ \: 8 \: } }

\tt{: \implies 48 = b \times 4}

\tt{: \implies 148 = 4b}

\tt{: \implies   \cancel{\dfrac{48}{4}}  = b}

\bf{: \implies \underline{ \:  \:  \underline{ \purple{ \:  \:  b = 12 \: cm \:  \: }} \:  \: }}

Hence, the base of a traingle is 12 cm.

Additional Information :

What are triangles ?

➜ A triangle is a three-sided polygon, which has three vertices. The three sides are connected with each other end to end at a point, which forms the angles of the triangle. The sum of all three angles of the triangle is equal to 180 degrees.

How many types of triangles ?

➜ There are basically six types of triangles. They are:

  1. Scalene Triangles
  2. Isosceles triangles
  3. Equilateral triangles
  4. Acute triangles
  5. Obtuse triangles
  6. Right triangles

Given :-

  • Area of a Δ = 0.48dm²

  • Altitude of a Δ = 8cm

To Find :-

  • The base of a Δ .

Solution :-

➡ Area of a Δ = 0.48 × 100 = 48cm²

As we know that,

{ \underline{ \boxed{ \red{ \rm{Area  \: of \:  Δ  =  \frac{1}{2} \times base \times height }}}}}

[ Putting values ]

➡ 48 = 1/2 × base × 8

➡ 48 = base × 4

➡ base = 48/4

➡ base = 12cm

Hence,

 { \underline{ \boxed{ \rm{ \huge{ \blue{The \:  base \:  of  \: a  \: Δ \: is \: 12cm .}}}}}}
