Answer: Let the base of the triangle be 'p'

Therefore,

Height of the triangle = 2p

Area of triangle = 1/2*b*h

400 cm = 1/2* p * 2p

400 cm = p^2

p = 20 cm

Ht = 2 (20) =40 cm

Base = 20 cm

Given :-

  • In a triangle the height is double the base and the area is 400 cm.

To find :-

  • Length of the base and height

Solution :-

  • Area of a triangle = 400cm

Let the base of triangle be x then its height be 2x

Area of the triangle = ½ × base × height

400 = ½ × (x) × 2x

400 = x²

x = √400

x = 20

Hence,

  • Base of triangle is 20cm and its height is 40cm
