Answer:

9.12rs

Explanation:

fans=2×20×10=400

bulbs=2×40×8=640

tv=1×15×20=100

total=1140W

that is 1.140kwh

1.140×8=9.120

therefore

bill is 9.120 per day

Given :

Number of fans - 2

Power consumption by each fan - 20 W

Time for which each fan is used per day - 10 hours

Number of bulbs - 2

Power consumed by each bulb - 40 W

Time for which each bulb is used - 8 hours

Power consumed by T.V - 15 W

Time for which T.V is used - 20 hours

Total number of days - 10 days

Cost of energy consumed - Rs. 8/ unit

To find :

The total cost of energy consumed

Solution:

Here the unit of electricity refers to KWh

Electrical energy consumed = Power (KW) × time (h)

Electrical energy consumed by 2 fans in one day (in KWh) = 2×20×10/1000

                                                                                                 = 0.4  KWh

Electrical energy consumed by 2 bulbs in one day (in KWh) = 2×40×8/1000

                                                                                                    = 0.64 KWh

Electrical energy consumed by T.V in one day = 15×20/1000

                                                                              = 0.3 KWh

Total energy consumed in 1 day = 0.4+0.64+0.3 KWh

                                                      = 1.34 KWh

Total energy consumed in 10 days = 1.34 × 10 KWh

                                                          = 13.4 KWh

Total cost of energy consumed = 13.4 ×8 Rs

                                                    = 107.2 Rs

Hence the total bill for ten days would be Rs. 107.2
