Binding energy of a body of mass m at rest on the surface of the earth is given by, B.E=\frac{GmM}{R}

where M is mass of the earth, R is the radius of the earth and G is universal gravitational constant.

here, m = 50kg, M = 6 × 10²⁴ Kg , G = 6.67 × 10^-11 Nm²/Kg² and R = 6.4 × 10^6m

now, B.E = 6.67 × 10^-11 × 50 × 6 × 10²⁴/(6.4 × 10^6)

= 3.127 × 10^9 J

hence, binding energy of the body is 3.127 × 10^9 J
