breadth = x

length = x + 18

area = 243m {}^{2}

area = length \times breadth

area = x(x + 18)

x {}^{2}  + 18x  =  243

x {}^{2}  + 18x - 243 = 0

x {}^{2}  - 9x + 27x - 243 = 0

x(x - 9) + 27(x - 9) = 0

(x + 27)(x - 9) = 0

x =  - 27 \:  \: and \:  \: x = 9

breadth = 9m

breadth \: cannot \: be \: negative \: so \: it \: is \: 9m
