Find the breadth of a rectangular plot of land, if its area is 440 m2 and the length is 22 m. Also find its perimeter.

Area of rectangle = 440 m²

Length = 22 m

We have to find the breadth.

We will use the formula of area of rectangle

Area = length × breadth

440 = 22 × breadth

breadth = 440 / 22

= 20 m

We also have to find the perimeter

Perimeter = 2 ( length + breadth )

= 2( 22 + 20 )

= 2 × 42

= 84 m

Hence, breadth and perimeter of the rectangle will be 20 m and 84 m respectively.

To find : breadth and perimeter of rectangular plot.

Given : length $=22 \mathrm{~m}$ and area = 440\ m^{2}

Solution :

  • According to question we are given that length and area of rectangular plot  is 22 \mathrm{~m}$  and 440\ m^{2} respectively. We have to find breadth and perimeter of plot.
  • To find area we use following formula -
  • Area of rectangular plot $=l \times b$
  • Substituting the values we get,

       440 \ m^{2} = 22\ m \times breadth \\

       breadth = \frac{440 \ m^{2} }{22 m}  \\breadth = 20\ m

  • Now , to find perimeter we have ,

         Perimeter =   2 ( l + b)

                           = 2 ( 22m + 20m ) \\= 2 ( 42m )\\= 84 \ m

Hence, breadth and perimeter of rectangular plot is 20\ m and 84 \ m respectively .
