Given:-

  • Perimeter of the rectangle is 20cm.

  • Length of the rectangle is 5cm.

To Find:-

  • Find the breadth of the rectangle.

Concept:-

  • Let's go through the concept first. Concept used here is Perimeter of a Rectangle.Substitute the values in the equation and solve it.

Formulae Applied:-

  • Perimeter of a Rectangle = 2(l + b)

Solution:-

Let the breadth be b

Given that,

Perimeter of the rectangle is 20cm.

Length of the rectangle is 5cm.

According to the question we have,

Perimeter of a Rectangle = 2(l + b)

= 2(l + b)

= 2(l + b) = 20

= 2(5 + b) = 20

= 5 + b = 20/2

= 5 +b = 10

= b = 10 - 5

= b = 5

= b = 5cm

Hence,

The breadth of the triangle is 5cm.

Verification:-

2(5 + b) = 20

b = 5

Substitute the value of b in the equation above

= 2(5 + 5) = 20

= 2(10) = 20

= 2 × 10 = 20

= 20 = 20

= LHS = RHS

Hence,

It is verified.
