Find the breadth of the rectangle in which :
(d) P = 172 cm, L = 47 cm​

perimeter of the rectangle = 172cm

length of the rectangle = 47cm

to find,

breadth of the rectangle.

perimeter of the rectangle = 2(length+breadth)

let,

the perimeter of the rectangle be :- 'P'

the length of the rectangle be :- 'l'

the breadth of the rectangle be :- 'b'

.: P = 2(l+b)

172cm = 2(47cm+b)

172cm = 2(47cm)+2(b)

172cm = 94cm+2b

2b = 172cm-94cm

2b = 78cm

b = \sf\dfrac{78cm}{2}

b = 39cm

.: breadth of the rectangle = 39cm.

perimeter \: of \: the \: rectangle \:  = 2(l + b)

Breadth of the triangle

Solution:

Perimeter of a rectangle = 2(l+b)

The perimeter of rectangle be : P

The Length of rectangle be : l

The Breadth of a rectangle be : b

Now apply formula 2(l+b)

P=2(l+b)

172=2(47+b)

172= 2(47) + 2(b)

172= 94+2b

2b= 172-94

2b = 78

b= 78/2

b= 39

Answer : breadth of a rectangle = 39

Formula used :

perimeter \: of \: a \:rectangle \: is \: 2(l  + b)
