Cost price for towel = 50

Buying price of towel = 50 x 108.5/100 = Rs54.25

Cost price of 2soaps = 35 x 2 = Rs.70

Buying price of two bar soaps = 70 x 108.5/100 = Rs. 75.95

Answer:

A) a towel of 50

Price of towel without tax = Rs.50

Tax = 8.5%

Price with tax = 50+8.5\% \times 50

                        = 50+\frac{8.5}{100} \times 50

                        = 54.25

Price of towel with tax= Rs.54.25

B)Two bars of soap at 35 each

Cost of 1 soap = Rs.35

Cost of 2 soaps = Rs.70

Price with tax = 70+8.5\% \times 70

                        = 70+\frac{8.5}{100} \times 70

                        = 75.95

So, price of two bars of sap at rs.35 each including tax = Rs.75.95
