The capacity of the tank is 4320 gallons.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

The tank can be filled by Pipe A and Pipe B in 10 hours.

Pipe B can fill the tank in 18 hours at the rate of 4 gallons per minute.

To Find:

The capacity of the tank.

Formula Used:

S=\frac{V}{T}      ------------------ formula no.01.

Where    S- speed

               V- capacity of the tank

               T- time is taken by pipe B to fill the tank.

Solution:

As given- pipe B can fill the tank in 18 hours at the rate of 4 gallons per minute.

S= 4 gallons per minutes= 4x60 gallons /hours = 240 gallons/hours

T=18 hours

Putting the value of S and T in the formula no.01.

 240=\frac{V}{18}

 V=240\times 18

     =4320 gallons

Thus, the capacity of the tank  is 4320 gallons.
