•The cartesian equation of the line passing through two points (x1,y1,z1) and (x2,y2,z2), is given by

(x-x1)/(x2-x1) = (y-y1)/(y2-y1) = (z-z1)/(z2-z1)

•Therefore, the cartesian equation of the line passing through the points , A(2,−1,3) and B(4,2,1) , is

(x-2)/(4-2) = (y+1)/(2+1) = (z-3)/(1-3)

• Implies, (x-2)/2 = (y+1)/3 = (z-3)/-2
